Venue comparison
Atlantis, The Palm vs JW Marriott Marquis Dubai for an Indian Wedding
Updated 8 November 2026 · by the Valiant Events planning team
Both hotels can host an Indian wedding of almost any size. Each has more than 1,500 rooms and space for 3,000 guests or more, so the choice comes down to setting, not capacity.
Atlantis, The Palm is a resort wedding. Guests stay on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah with a private beach, a waterpark and an aquarium, and the sangeet or mehendi can move outdoors to the beach or the Asateer tent. It suits families who want the wedding to feel like a holiday and don't mind being about 40 minutes from the airport.
JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai is a city wedding. Its twin towers in Business Bay hold 37 event venues, most of them indoors, and its Dubai Ballroom seats about 1,400 to 1,500 guests. It is 20 to 30 minutes from Dubai International Airport and close to Downtown Dubai, which helps when guests fly in for a few days and want to shop between functions.

Questions couples ask
Which is better for a summer wedding in Dubai?
JW Marriott Marquis. From May to September Dubai is very hot, so most functions move indoors, and the Marquis has 34 indoor venues. Atlantis is at its best from November to March, when the beach and outdoor spaces can be used in the evenings.
Do Indian guests need a visa for a wedding in Dubai?
Yes. Indian passport holders need a UAE visa, which the hotel or a travel agent can arrange before travel. Guests with a valid US visa or a UK or EU residence permit can usually get a visa on arrival. Check the current rules for each guest before booking flights.
Can we have loud music and a late sangeet in Dubai?
Indoors, usually yes, under the hotel's own permits. Outdoor amplified music in Dubai generally has to stop by about 10 or 11 pm, and beachfront events need extra permits. Plan the late part of the night in a ballroom and confirm the exact cut-off with the hotel.

JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai is about 15 to 17 km from Dubai International Airport (DXB), 20 to 30 minutes by car. Atlantis, The Palm is about 37 km away, usually 35 to 45 minutes, and longer at rush hour.
